Enterprise Risk Management Forum (E07ERM)
In today’s fast moving and complex world, the operating environment facing organisations can change very quickly. Strategies and processes that were successful before may not be so in the future. Instead of taking the state of the operating environment for granted, organisations now should be keenly aware of the threats that they can face, and take steps to proactively pre-empt, manage and mitigate the risks. Organisations need to be able to size up risks associated with organisation-wide threats and opportunities, understand them and learn how to manage them.
To do this, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is pivotal. A well-instituted and integrated ERM programme can help to foster a culture in which calculated risks are allowed and risk from failures can be mitigated through risk control measures.
At this event, participants will gain valuable insights into how agencies have overcome the various challenges faced and also new developments in RM/ERM. Organisations will also share current good ERM practices and how such systems can be developed successfully.
Lecture: Six Tripwires That Can Undermine a Team... and How to Avoid Them (E05STT)
People who form, lead, and work in teams frequently undermine their teams' effectiveness in predictable, but avoidable, ways. What are some of the common – and yet, often overlooked – mistakes that people experience in teams?

Drawing on decades of research about teams, this lecture will identify the most common pitfalls that prevent teams from functioning at their best and share effective steps for both team leaders and team members to overcome these problems.
Workshop: Creating the Conditions for Superb Teams (E06CCS)
As the Singapore Public Service continues to evolve and respond to the challenges faced, we find ourselves relying more on teams to complete complex tasks and projects. What enables a team to be effective? What does team effectiveness means? These questions will be answered during the workshop. This full-day workshop will draw from over 50 years of team effectiveness research and tap on participants’ real life experiences to develop a practical approach of running teams effectively.
Find out what are the six main conditions that either push teams towards or deter them from performing at their best. You will also learn how to use these conditions as a tool to diagnose the health of your teams in your own organisation. Finally, learn how to identify and develop interventions that OD practitioners can employ to support the launch and development of effective teams over time.

Workshop Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Identify the 6 key conditions that enable team effectiveness for any kind of team
- Identify 3 key junctures in the life of a team when they are especially open to intervention
- Develop an effective process for getting teams started on a positive trajectory
- Diagnose the level of team effectiveness and the causes limiting its effectiveness
- Know how to design appropriate interventions that can improve team effectiveness at various points of the team’s life cycle (e.g. beginning, midpoint, & near end)
Course: Applied Change Management for Practitioners & Change Teams (C01ACM)
Faced with a rapidly changing environment and growing citizen expectations, organizations in the Public Service are increasingly required to respond by implementing change efforts which can range from introducing new work processes or systems to that of organisational transformation. While some of these change efforts may have found success, there are others that have not. The reason for change efforts being ineffective can largely be attributed to the lack of attention paid in securing acceptance of the change by the affected stakeholders.

What can we do as OD practitioners to improve the level of effectiveness of the change efforts? How should we structure the management of the change efforts for success? What systematic approaches can we adopt to manage the human side of change? What can we do to foster the acceptance of change by the affected stakeholders?

Modeled after a cutting-edge change management programme proprietary to two leading MNCs, this 3 day programme seeks to answer these questions and beyond.
